Bragging on my daughter
I have to brag a bit on my seven year old daughter. Last friday we started on a quilt for my granddaughter. She is only 4 and a half months old, and I had a nice pack of pink charms. (don't get me started on ebay! It is addictive and I don't even LIKE charm packs!).
On Friday evening around 5pm we started with her FIRST sewing lesson. By the time we stopped for bed, she had the quilt top almost completely finished! Saturday morning, we made a quick trip to Joanns (forgot my coupon!) to get some flannel backing, a cheap cotton batting, and a bit of fabric for some extra borders on one side and the binding.
By about 8 pm, we were using the Sharon Schamber metod of using glue to attach the binding. (not actually using the glue only, but using the glue instead of pins. Works great!) When the quilt was completed, it was great! Start to finish was just a bit over 24 hours to complete. She even used my quilting machine to do the quilting herself!
I'll try to get a picture posted.
Tasha, my DIL, cried when she saw the quilt. Everyone at church told Brianna what a good job she had done. All I know is that MY first quilt did not turn out that good! Very jealous!
